Presenting, four ways to learn a new word daily. Word-a-Day.
Method One: Basic Paper-based
- Open the dictionary to a random page
- Pick a word at random
- Practice the word and its meaning
Method Two: Convoluted Paper-based
- Pick a random book (novel, non-fiction, etc.)*
- Open the book to a random page
- Browse until you come across a word you don't know
- Look it up in a dictionary
- Practice the word and its meaning
Method Three: Basic Digital
- Select an online dictionary, such as dictionary.com, merriam-webster.com, or www.britannica.com/dictionary
- Find the Word of the Day section*
- Practice the Word and its meaning
*Bonus: Merriam-Webster allows you to sign up to receive the word of the day by email
Method Four: Convoluted Digital
- Write a Python script
- Scrap a randomly selected word and its meaning from an online dictionary
- Send the information to your email each morning
- Practice the Word and its meaning
