Summer Theme 2022: Brainstorming Alter Egos

Enter the Ego-verse.   I've brainstormed a variety of ideas for my Summer Theme: Alter Egos .  These should be enough to hold me over for a few weeks, or at least until Crabhammer gets old.

Adventures in Sketchtopia Part 23: Thousand Worlds 5

Strangers from a strange planet.     This is part five of a series of sketches on a single topic, the  Thousand Worlds .   Mobius Sharks, Bark Builders, and Anthozomorphs:  The top half of the drawing shows a flying vehicle with a tractor beam below its cockpit and a highly maneuverable back half.  The vehicle is piloted by a mobius shark (below and to the right), which has the same biological characteristics that the ship mimics.   The bottom left figure is a Bark Builder, an alien that looks like a humanoid collection of bark.  It is equipped with robotic claws that deal deadly venom.   The bottom right figure is an Anthozomorph, an alien whose head better resembles an Earth coral than anything else.  It wields an energy gun that can also be stabilized into a stabbing, plasma blade.  Cerian Colony Walkers and Heliobloats:   The upper alien appears to be a series of glowing orbs and scales combined into a h...

Writing Tool: More Panic Cards

For writing emergencies only... I've already explained the concept of Panic Cards .   Again, on the front of each card, I've written an encouraging phrase. And on the back, a reward for finishing my writing goal.  ( Use only as directed.  Do not take more than 3 panic cards in a 24-hour period.  Talk to your doctor if you experience symptoms of writer's block or the desire to compose sonnets. )

Explorations in Clayland Part 26: Artifact Creatures 1

Fire and stone come alive.   Conjured in smoky wizard halls or in dusty dwarven dungeons, this first collection of artifact creatures are sure to be a serious challenge to any warlock spy or treasure seeker. Living fireball:  Powered by a fire-gem at its center, this floating firestorm's wagging tongue is its least dangerous attribute. Lava golem:  Kept perpetually molten by a particularly powerful enchantment, this moaning monster will melt the treasure it guards before it'll let anyone steal it. Magma golem:  Its stony exterior radiates heat from the molten magma within.  Some of that magma leaks out of its eyes, mouth, and hands as lava.   Blood Tornado:  Dark magic spawned this spinning terror of hemoglobic hate.  An adventurer that strays too close to its funnel will find their own blood drained and joined to the tornado. Sandstone Golem:  Nothing too exciting, as far as golems go.  Its secret?  A soft, sandy interior...

Summer 2022 Theme: Enter the Crabhammer

The Crabhammer is coming.     Every season, I pick a new theme for my life.  I've talked about it before in my Winter of Meaningful Missions post . For Summer 2022, I've decide on Summer of Alter Egos .  Each day, I'll put together a whimsical alter ego that I'll use to channel my activities. To kick it off, I've created a few cartoon avatars.  My alter ego for Day 1 is  Mark Crabhammer. Mark Crabhammer: smasher of barriers and seafood Base Avatar Image
